Managing and mass update custom fields in Salesforce becomes increasingly challenging as Salesforce orgs continue to grow. Salesforce administrators and developers often need to update field labels, descriptions, help text, field length, API names, and other field properties across multiple objects.

Using standard Salesforce setup for these updates requires opening every field individually and making changes one by one. When multiple fields across standard and custom objects need updates, the process quickly becomes repetitive, time-consuming, and difficult to manage efficiently.

In large Salesforce environments, manual field updates can also increase the risk of configuration inconsistencies, deployment delays, and human errors. As a result, Salesforce teams spend significant time handling repetitive administrative tasks instead of focusing on higher-value Salesforce operations.

Solution

To simplify this process, Salesforce teams can use the BOFC application.

BOFC helps administrators and developers mass update custom fields in Salesforce through a centralized and automation-driven interface. Instead of modifying fields manually, users can update multiple field attributes across multiple objects in just a few clicks.

The application supports both direct table-based updates and Excel (XLS/XLSX) driven updates, making large-scale field management faster and easier.

Note:

To avail this feature, kindly make sure you have installed the latest version of the application. You can upgrade your package using either of two ways:

  1. In Salesforce, go to “BOFC Home > Settings > App Version > Click to Upgrade” — or —
