Managing Report Types in Salesforce can quickly become a repetitive and time-consuming task—especially for admins handling large orgs with dozens or even hundreds of custom report types.

If you’ve ever tried to clean up unused report types manually, you already know the struggle.

Let’s look at some common limitations in Salesforce Report Type management:

  • Can you add multiple fields to Custom Report Types in one click?
  • Can you remove multiple fields from multiple Report Types at once?
  • Can you delete multiple Report Types in bulk directly from Salesforce Setup?

Unfortunately, the answer is No.

Salesforce’s standard setup requires admins to open each Report Type individually and perform actions one by one. This process becomes frustrating when dealing with large-scale cleanup, metadata optimization, or sandbox maintenance activities.

That’s where the BOFC app makes the process dramatically easier.

With BOFC, Salesforce admins can delete multiple Report Types in just a few clicks—saving hours of manual effort.

Why Bulk Report Type Cleanup Matters

Over time, Salesforce orgs accumulate unused or outdated Report Types because of:

  • Old business processes
  • Deprecated objects
  • Sandbox testing
  • Merged departments
  • Unused customizations

Too many unnecessary Report Types can create:

  • Metadata clutter
  • Confusing reporting experience
  • Maintenance overhead
  • Slower admin productivity

Regular cleanup helps keep your org organized and easier to manage.

Steps to Delete multiple Report Types

Step 1: Open the BOFC Home > Click “Add / Remove Report Types”

Remove Report Types

Step 2: It will open below screen to manage report types. Select the type of operation as “Delete multiple Report Types” option in radio button.

Status Indicators

  • 🟢 Green → Report Type deleted successfully
  • 🔴 Red → Error occurred while deleting the Report Type

This makes it easy to identify which Report Types were processed successfully and which may require additional review.

Final Thoughts

Salesforce is powerful, but many admin operations are still limited when it comes to bulk management.

If your team regularly works with large numbers of Report Types, using a bulk management solution like BOFC (Bulk Object Field Creator) can help streamline administration and reduce manual effort dramatically.

Instead of deleting Report Types one by one, you can clean up your org in minutes—not hours.
